3 Ways To Get Into Your Locked Car
If you have been locked out of your car, you want to get in your car as soon as possible. There are different ways that you can get yourself into your car as soon as possible.
Spare Key
If you have a habit of losing your key, or you just want to make sure that you never get locked out of your car again, one thing you can do is to make sure that you have a spare key. You could keep a spare key in your wallet or you can keep it in a magnetic box that you secure on your car somewhere. If you choose to use that second option, make sure that you have a very strong magnet and that you put it someplace where it isn't obvious. You may also want to leave a spare key with a friend or family member so that all you have to do is call them and have them come let you in your car.
Shoelace
A shoelace won't work on every car, but if your car door locks and unlocks using a pop-up lock, this may be a method you can use. What you are going to do is tie a loop in the middle of the shoelace using a slip knot. Then, holding on to the ends, you are going to work the shoelace under the corner of the door until you have the loop over the door lock and you can pull it out and unlock your door. It may take a few times for you to get the loop over the knob, but it's worth it to try.
Call a Professional
Another option is for you to call a professional. That can be a locksmith or a roadside assistance company. They will have tools that you don't have access to. Those things can include things like bump keys. Those are generic key blanks that the locksmith can put into the door lock that can convince the tumblers and pins in the lock that the key is the correct key and will be able to unlock the door. You really only want to have a professional use this tool because you don't want to have anyone damage your car.
